Grab a cuppa, and let's chat. 🍵

You know, I was lounging on my couch last night, scrolling through what we're now calling "X" (as one does), and I stumbled upon this gem from Steve Jobs that Sean Frank shared.

Yep, *that* Steve Jobs.

Dated 17th March, 1986, this memo was all about building Apple "slowly and carefully."

The "slow" approach led to a cool 3 trillion dollar company. 🤯

So, let's break it down and see how we can sprinkle some of that Apple magic onto our own brands, shall we?

1. Fewer Cooks, Tastier Broth

Jobs was onto something. He believed in the power of a tight-knit, passionate crew over a sprawling team. No need to convince a boardroom of folks or manage a small army.

It's not about the headcount. A few dedicated souls can make magic happen. And hey, fewer people to split the pizza with on late work nights! 🍕

2. Meeting Schmeeting

Steve was not a fan of meetings eating into precious work time. He proposed a "No Meeting Day."

How about setting aside a day just for you and your store each week? No calls, no Zoom fatigue. Just you, your ideas, and maybe some lo-fi beats in the background.

3. Be a Doer, Not Just a Delegator

Jobs warned about the sneaky shift from being hands-on to just pointing fingers (not the accusatory kind, the delegatory kind).

Even if you've outsourced like crazy – dive into your store now and then. Get your hands dirty. Remember the thrill of packing an order or designing a new product page? Relive it!

Wrap Up

Building a DTC empire isn't a sprint; it's a marathon with some dance breaks.

Heck, it's taken me a decade to get to where I am. So, channel your inner Steve Jobs, take things slow, and sprinkle in some fun.

And remember, I'm here along with a small but vocal community cheering you on every step of the way.

Catch you next week, and keep those curiosity flames burning!

Cheers,

Tom
