The tools you and I use in this ecommerce space are evolving at a pace like never before.

There are more players than ever before, more new 'solutions', more AI, more cold DMs, more pitches, more noise than ever... it's easy to get overwhelmed.

Lucky for you, I've sifted through the noise and endured countless pitches to bring you the crème de la crème of ecommerce tools for 2024. These tools are not just about keeping up—they're about staying ahead, optimising costs, and enhancing customer retention in an increasingly competitive market.

Here are my cards laid out on the table to show you which proverbial horses I'd be backing this year:

  • Junip – I can't lie; when Stuart first told me he was building a reviews platform a few years ago, I didn't get it – another one? Now I do. We're migrating James Gin later this month.
  • Replo – Landing pages without the developer (sorry guys), a ton of templates, A/B testing and significantly cheaper than building custom themes or pages. And no, store speed isn't an issue.
  • Novel – "Big whoop, Tom. It's a wallet pass." Oh, sweet grasshopper... book a demo with Roger. My brain melted when I first understood the power of Novel. Hint: Push Notifications + Referrals on steroids.
  • Siena – AI customer service shouldn't be this good yet. Lisa, this thing is insane.
  • Redo – A free, free returns platform. Notice how every Amazon listing has it? Because it boosts conversions like wildfire. Redo takes it even further for Shopify.
  • Recart – Fully managed SMS with a touch of AI. I love this product, and I adore the team behind it. Recart has an insane focus on doing ONE thing (SMS) exquisitely.
  • Platter – A 'smart' theme sounds like a gimmick. I thought it was too until Ben showed me behind the scenes.
  • Soona – AI photography is coming at us faster than I think most of us realise. Soona is leaning in heavily.
  • Archive – "Influencer seeding... blah blah... Tom you're a broken record". I know, but how do you think we're automatically capturing all of that content across IG, YT, TT, etc.? Go talk to Paul.
  • Lifetimely – It scares me how few founders have a finger on the pulse of their financials. Get your head out of the sand and face this head-on. If doing so scares you, call me. There's no judgement. I promise I've had my fair share of "oh s***, how did I miss that?!" moments over the years.
  • RE:INVENT – Bryn, this is freaking genius and I wish I'd thought of it. Collab campaigns, but not as you might expect.
  • Black Crow – I don't know that I love this from a consumer POV, but no one is handling first-party data like this. If you want data tracking back... book a demo.
  • Creative OS – I spoke about this one last week. It's allowing us to pump out Facebook creatives at a rate of knots. Thank you, Chase!
  • Social Snowball – Snowball your marketing efforts – affiliate as it should always have been done. Kudos, Noah!
  • Aftersell + Upcart – "How do I build a funnel with Shopify?" – by upselling wherever and whenever it makes sense. There's a good reason Rokt just acquired the business. I love that slide out cart.

There you have it – 15 tools that are not just helping my own and clients' businesses survive but helping them thrive and stay on the bleeding edge by automating, optimising and personalising so much of the customer experience.

If you haven't checked them out yet, I highly recommend taking an hour to dive in and explore them. Hand on heart, they could help you dramatically redefine how you're engaging with your customers.

I hope some are genuinely transformative. Any that are new to you?

Cheers one & all to a profitable week ahead!

Tom

P.S. As ever, I more than welcome your feedback – have you tried any of these out yet? Hit reply and let me know your honest thoughts, or share some I'm missing. Appreciate you!
